Father's Day is traditionally a day of breakfast in bed and carefully selected (but hardly ever worn) ties. Whether it's his first or his fifth, what can you do to make this Father's Day special? We've asked dads what would really make Father's Day great, and here's what they told us:

1. Eliminate the pressure. What Dad wants most is to have a day free from any pressure. Even the pressure of having a "perfect day." Dad would really appreciate no deadlines, no hassles, no chores, no having to fix anything, and no rushing about on this special day. Let him really relax so he can enjoy his second wish...

2. Spend time together. Enjoying each other's company as a family in relative harmony seems simple. But it's so easy to get sidetracked from your time together when you get caught up in cooking, taking a quick run to the store, or the temptation to finish up a project. Get away from the house if you must, but take this day to focus on spending time together as a family. Go for a walk, have a picnic, lie in a hammock together, share stories and dreams together. Now that's a day Dad will really remember!

3. Make romance. Father's Day is not just a day to celebrate Dad as provider and caregiver for the children. It's a day to honor your partner as your lover and friend. Make him feel special by telling him how much he means to you, dressing up for him, treating him to a massage. Give him a sexy surprise in the morning or steal a few moments during the day to show him how much you love him.

4. Focus on him. Instead of planning everything out for him, give him the gift of freedom and choice. Let him make decisions about what to do and how to spend the day. If he's a sports fan, accompany him to see a favorite team play. Is fishing his passion? Even if you're not so keen on bait, go along with him if he wants you to. If he wants a few hours to himself, indulge him. He deserves it!

5. Bring on the praise. Fathers want to be appreciated. Tell him how much you need him. Show him how you feel by writing him a thank-you note detailing the ways he contributes to the family, how he gives moral and emotional support, what makes him a great parent and partner. If writing is not your forte, consider making a short family video for him, or making a big banner in his honor. You don't have to spend a lot of money on extravagant gifts; your gratitude and love are the greatest gifts you can give him this Father's Day.

Ingredients
2 tablespoon of butter
3 large eggs
1 tbsp whole wheat cornflour
100g 0% Greek yogurt
2 tbsp icing sugar
100g light soft cheese
70g plain flour
2 tbsp cocoa
½ tsp baking powder
85g caster sugar
25g chopped dark chocolate
1 tbsp strong black coffee

Method
Heat the oven to 360 degrees.

Take a bowl and whisk the eggs and sugar until they are light and fluffy. Continue for 5 minutes using an electric hand whisk. The mixture would have increased in great volume by now.

Now, gently add in whole wheat cornflour, cocoa, baking powder, flour to the mixture one by one and fold them in by using a large metal spoon.

Now take a baking tray of the shape you want your cake to be. Apply a thin sheet of baking paper and place the cocoa mixture over it. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cake is well risen. In order to check if the cake is well made, press the sides of the cake – if it springs back when gently spread it is a perfectly made cake. Leave the cake to cool for 10 minutes.

Now, place the cake on a serving plate and spread the yogurt mixture on top.

Cheesecake Recipe without Cream Cheese

Ingredients
200g of walnuts
100g of cashews
200g of dates
600ml coconut cream
200g unrefined sugar
2g of agar-a 5cm X 7cm piece
400g of tofu
250ml of soy milk
500g of bananas
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp vanilla essence
date syrup

Method

For the base
Grind the nuts into a fine powder. Chop the dates finely and kneed them with the nuts. Press this into the base of a spring-form cake tin approx. 30cm in diameter.

For the filling
Heat the coconut milk and sugar in a heavy based saucepan. When it nearly reaches boiling point add the agar broken into bits or powder if available and simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat once all the agar dissolves and allow it to cool slightly while preparing the rest of the ingredients.

Blend the tofu into a paste by putting it into the blender and adding the soy milk in small amounts at a time until the tofu forms a smooth cream. Similarly blend the bananas with the cinnamon and vanilla and a bit of soy milk into a cream and then combine this with the tofu. Whisk the coconut milk into the mixture well. In order to check if the amount of agar is ok, place a spoonful of the mixture into the freezer for a few minutes and see if it sets. If it does not, add some more agar in a bit of soy milk or coconut milk by heating the mixture and then this can be added to the original mixture, until the right consistency is obtained. Pour this into the cake tin. Refrigerate for at least 12 hours.

With Sugar on Top @ Orderyourchoice.com

“I’m not from Italy or Spain, where you can talk about the food for hours,” Jasmina Bojic said, her cooks darting into the refrigerator beside her. She’s the executive pastry chef at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York, where she makes extravagant cakes fit for oligarchs, but, she said, “my country is small. It’s homey, nothing fancy about it, so I’m nervous to tell you about our food.” She was referring to Montenegro, a rough diamond set on the Adriatic, surrounded by Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo and Albania — more borders than I thought a country the size of Connecticut could have.

Jasmina came to New York when she was 17, on vacation, and fell in love with an American boy. Her parents brought her back the following year for the wedding, return tickets to Yugoslavia nestled in their luggage with their finery. But this was the summer of 1991, when civil war erupted. The family decided to wait here, to see what happened. They heard about the violence. They heard about the new borders. They never went home.

Over a lunch of juicy kebablike cevapi in Astoria, where Croatians, Bosnians, Serbians and Montenegrins have settled for generations, Jasmina told me all those new borders have never meant much for her community here. For proof, she asked me to talk to her friend Anita Boneta, who was a resident of Astoria for four decades.

“A lot of people in Belgrade and Dubrov-nik, husband and wife, would break up,” Anita, a Croatian, said. “I thought, This is crazy! Everybody here, they were O.K. with each other. When I was working at a restaurant, there was a captain from the area where Jasmina is from. He said, ‘You know, we shouldn’t even be friends!’ But he was one of my best friends.”

So many immigrant stories are marked by loss, by what people miss. Yet, talking to people from a country that no longer exists, I also realized that sometimes they have a chance to reconnect what’s severed when they get to their new home. Without the baggage of borders, the estranged can become bedfellows — Indians and Pakistanis buying the same spices in Jackson Heights, or Ukrainians and Russians eating the same fish in Brighton Beach.

It’s a lesson Jasmina showed me in the hotel’s kitchen. Sampita, a treat she has been making since she was a girl, is a plank of yolk-rich cake piled with glossy meringue, a kind of open-faced marshmallow sandwich. At first glance, it could be any white-topped European layer cake, until you cut into it and see that it’s mostly a riot of rich sugar. It’s a simple pleasure, sweet and gooey and compelling with strong coffee and rigorous dental hygiene. When I asked why we were making this dessert in particular, Jasmina said: “Well, our country is big on things like baklava, but when I was talking with my mom, she said that’s not really us. But this, I know, is our creation. I haven’t seen it anyplace else.”

Jasmina poured hot syrup into the egg whites, whipping them to a spectacular height. I had noticed that she used much more sugar than called for in a typical meringue. When we ate it, she noted how moist the cake gets after you let it rest; the extra syrup in the meringue slowly seeps into the base. This is crucial, she said.

It’s an unusual technique, and something about it kept nagging at me, until I went back to the map. Yugoslavia — with Montenegro near its center — sat directly between Central Europe and the Mediterranean. Or, in dessert terms, precisely between the lofty cakes of Austria and the syrup-soaked baklavas of Greece and Turkey. Jasmina’s sampita might be “nothing fancy,” as she put it, but it speaks to her people, undivided by borders.

Safe & Reliable: How To shop At Online Jewelry Stores

Online Jewelry stores are the latest of the “retail dominoes” to fall, and a god-send for the time-and cash strapped modern citizen. There’s no need to hassle with the driver, the parking or the snooty jewelry store salesman anymore, when you can now check out your favorite gemstone or diamond right there at a click of the mouse.  Of course, if you are a harassed fiancé with absolutely no clue of how to buy a diamond or even what the real McCoy looks like, you need a lot of education. But for the rest of us, who want to benefit from the vast price differences between brick-and-mortar stores and e-commerce shopping, these are only a few tips.
First off, browse and browse like there’s no tomorrow (there is, but it’s hard to believe). Most online jewelry stores offer discounts and giveaways, all year round, so the more you browse, the better the deals you’ll dig up. The choices are unlimited, so if you’re really unsure, walk into a brick-and-mortar near your area and look around. If a style or design attracts you make a note of it, i.e., the cut, stone setting etc., and look for something similar online. You may not get the exact same thing but it will be close.
Diamond RIngsNext up, how genuine is the piece of jewelry you want to buy? There are several institutes and organizations that value your diamonds and gemstones. Nowadays, most online jewelry stores whether they’re the big conglomerates or the mom-and-pop variety offer certificates along with genuine gemstones.  The most well-known are the GIA (Gemological Institute Of America), AGS (The American Gem Society), EGL (EGL (European Gemological Laboratory) International), IGI (International Gemological Institute), etc. Thelist goes on but the ones named in this article are popular in the United States.
Most online jewelry stores include a diamond certification with the product. You can view the certificate online and also except to get one when you buy the diamond. You can also get an independent appraisal from a (GG) graduate gemologist. This will give you the monetary value of the gemstone. If you’re looking at buying a diamond ring or a necklace as an heirloom or keepsake to pass onto your children and grandchildren, then ensure the diamond has substantial monetary value. A certification tells you the genuineness of the gemstone, usually a diamond. An appraisal gives you an idea of the monetary value of the gemstone at that time. In general, a gemstone’s value doesn’t dip drastically, so they’re a safe bet to invest in.
And lastly, do you want a large gemstone that’s not very expensive, which means the gem’s not so valuable after all. Or would you rather have a smaller but better quality gemstone? Remember an online jewelry store isn’t very different to a brick-and-mortar one. They’re looking at their profits as well as the word-of-mouth advertisement a happy customer is likely to generate. So do look around for customer reviews about online jewelry stores, and you’ll get a good idea of which ones to choose.

THE LONG & SHORT NECKLACES

Necklaces are the first jewellery that is gifted to Indian children. Chains are gifted to newborn children by their doting grandparents & relatives. This custom continues for boy children while girls start receiving earrings after their ears are pierced. Necklace lengths range from close to the neck or ‘choker’ style to ‘lariat’ length chains that reach to the waist. Indian brides usually wear several lengths of necklaces during their weddings to show that their parents have showered them with enough.

What are the different lengths of chains that can be worn as daily style? It’s very helpful to know the lengths of necklaces, while wearing different neckline styles with them. A stylist may advise you to wear a choker necklace with a turtleneck blouse or a lariat length necklace with a halter necked blouse. It helps to know what fashion models & designers are referring to, when you shop your ensembles.

Choker Necklaces
Worn close to the neck or around the neck, these necklaces are usually 14 inches in length. Collar length necklaces are even shorter at 12”- 13”. These are great for wearing with boat necklines or off- the- shoulder & strapless outfits.

Princess Necklaces
The most common type of necklaces – they come as sets when you buy earrings online. They’re commonly 17”- 19” in length & feature delicate pendants. The necklace length rests on the collar bone & is visible through formals shirt collars & outfits. Women prefer them as they’re less ostentatious & can be worn with decent 1cm or 2cm pendants.

Matinee Necklaces
These necklace chains are 20” – 24” in length & lie just below the collar- bone, depending upon a woman’s neck size, they could even reach up to slightly above the bust. Very young girls wear matinee length chains as statement necklaces with huge pendants. Some like the White Zircon Studded Necklace look like diamonds on white are perfect accessories & don’t need earrings to complement them.

Opera Necklaces
At 28”- 34” long, they’re dramatic & can be worn as a single strand or looped twice around the neck, forming a 2- row necklace for dramatic effect. Long Italian Necklace with Mermaid Purple Pendants the perfect example of opera necklaces that look great when worn with chic eveningwear.

Rope & Lariat Necklaces
Mostly seen in natural pearl ropes, these can be looped to form 3 or 4 rows necklace chains, giving the illusion stacked necklaces. A Tri Color Necklace can also give the illusion of 3 to 4 rows of chains & is great when you want to give the impression of wearing several chains but don’t have varying lengths.

A Long Italian Necklace with Mermaid White Pendant is a great accent for embroidered salwar suits & dressy knee- length outfits. Choose your necklaces according to the occasion. The general rule of thumb is that longer & heavier necklaces are worn for festive & party occasions. More practical necklace length like the princess is every day wear.

Jewelry for Four Body Types

What’s the perfect body type? The hourglass figure obviously! All of us aren't lucky to be blessed with perfect figures. Some of us are round or apple – shaped, some are pear or triangle –shaped, i.e., larger hips & smaller chest, some women strongly remind us of inverted triangles- wider chests with narrow hips. While most fashion magazines tell us to dress according to our body types, few tell us to select jewelry to match body types.

Buxom or round is the pre- dominant body type in India & perfect for rocking saris in. Dramatic style is the only way to go for buxom women, accessories you in heavy jewelry such as the Moksha Baroque Silver Pendant & Earrings, the Rococo Drop Silver Pendant & Silver Earrings and other such dramatic designs. Draw attention away from your waist to your face. Slim chains with dramatic pendants do not draw attention to a heavy neck.

Women with triangle or pear shaped bodies usually feel self-conscious about their hips or behinds. Another way of drawing attention away from your lower torso to your bust is to wear princess length chains with elaborate pendants. Choker or matinee length necklaces too are a good way of drawing the eye up to your best features. The Maya Floral Silver Pendant & Earrings are huge, yet delicately crafted jewelry pieces that can be worn with either ethnic or western wear.

Women with inverted triangle shaped bodies- Are you well -endowed & embarrassed? Never fear! Wear a collared shirt & a chic scarf to achieve feminine & delicate style. Balance out your body by wearing linear Multicolor Crystal Filigree Pendant & Earrings jewelry set. If your fingers are slender & shapely, sterling silver rings like the Illusion White Zircon Statement Silver Ring or a Rosy Butterfly Crystal Ring is sure to draw attention to your best features.

Women with hour- glass figures can wear almost anything! They’re the luckiest, though they need to be careful about wearing large dramatic jewelry as these may overwhelm their delicate or slight frames.

Orderyourchoice.com has a range of jewelry that charm women of all ages. We carry contemporary & semi- formal crystal, zircon, bedded, terracotta & jewelry designs that appeal to women throughout India.

How You Can Find Your Ring Size in Four Easy Steps

Buying Silver jewelleryonline is even cheaper than buying it from a local silver jewellery shop or your family jeweller. In fact, the designs are exquisitely dainty and unusual unlike the chunky designs found in offline silver jewellery stores. But many of us find that buying silver rings for women, men and kids a big hassle online. We don’t have opportunity to fit the rings on our fingers like we do in offline shops and get irritated when the customer support personnel can’t get our ring size over phone.

Well, there’s a real easy way of measuring your ring size accurately. All you need are:

A short thin strip of paper about 6 inches long (a string will do if you can’t find paper)
A marker or pencil to mark the paper and
A ruler with both inches and millimetre markings.

First, wrap the piece of paper around the base of the finger that you want to measure.

Next, take the pen and mark the paper where it overlaps on your finger to form a complete circle.

Then, keep the paper along your ruler to measure it’s length in mm.

Finally, compare this measurement with this chart to find the nearest measurement to yours. This is the size that will fit you.

If your ring size falls between 2 rings size shown in the chart opt for the bigger size.

A few tips for more accurate measurements:
Some men and women have large finger joints, in such cases it’s better to measure just under the largest joint of the finger you want to wear the ring on.

Like your feet, your fingers too swell over the course of the day; try to measure the finger you want to wear the silver rings on near the end of the day or in the afternoon, when they’ll be a little swollen.

Now go back to the ring you fell in love with and start a wonderful journey of buying online jewellery without any hassle and lots convenience.

Gifts – A Special Gesture to Express Love

There is no arguing about the fact that giving gifts is one of the best ways to express your feelings, love and appreciation. Giving presents to your dear ones, family and friends not only make the occasions special, but also show your care for them. It is a unique way to promote growth in your relationships and make occasions memorable for life.

Whether it is for birthday, anniversary, wedding, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, we all love to receive and give presents. Sure, gifts received during special days make us feel really happy, but when we receive these without any occasion, special day or reason, that feeling is unimaginable.

These are priceless and express your love, care and respect for the person. It is not important that the present should be a costly one; it is the element of a surprise that really matters!!! If it is given with sincerity, passion and from the bottom of your heart, the person who receives it will love you. Now the question arises what to give? When it comes to choosing gifts for loved ones, we, most of the times, are clueless about what to give them. There are a wide range of items available in the market, which makes it very difficult for us to decide. Giving the items which your dear ones love to add in their lives is the best and safest bet. However, if you want to do something unique and different, know about their preferences, consider the occasion and then make your choice. Be sure whatever you choose reflects the personality of the recipient.

Here are a few things that you should keep in mind while making the decision.

When you are shopping for a present, always consider the age of the recipient. If you are buying it for a child, you can choose toys, stuffed toys, colors, doll houses etc. Children will definitely love these. However, if he/she is a youngster; you can consider gadgets like iPod, MP3, laptop, DVDs or sports items. He/she would definitely appreciate and cherish it for many years.

For your parents, you can think of something unique like a stylish couple’s wrist watch. You can give a golf kit to your father if he is a sport fan. For mothers, home appliances or beauty products could be a perfect choice. Giving a nice women designer perfume for your mother and branded cologne for your father could be a nice idea. You can surprise your grandparents with a mini vacation to some nice place. A family photo in an antique frame would also be an excellent idea to show that you really care for your grandparents.

Gender is one important factor that you cannot afford to ignore. It is a well known fact that preferences of the men and women are completely different. So always consider the gender of the person while choosing a gift for your loved one. When selecting a unique present for women, you can consider jewelry, soft toys, flowers, chocolates, clothes and other fashion accessories. For men, you can choose wallets, computer accessories, mobiles, laptops, play stations etc. Once you got something special for your loved one, don’t forget to wrap in a nice packing.

If you don’t have time to visit departmental stores, you can also shop from online stores. These stores offer genuine high-quality items and you might also get good discount offers.

Read the Original Mother’s Day Message

In honor of the holiday, read President Woodrow Wilson's proclamation

Philadelphia activist Anna Jarvis (1864-1948) came up with the idea for “Mother’s Day” at the beginning of the 20th century as a tribute to her mother.

On May 10, 1908, in what is considered the first Mother’s Day celebration, she sent 500 carnations to Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church, her mother’s church in Grafton, W.Va. (which was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1992).

The event generated an enormously positive response, and after extensive lobbying and letter-writing efforts, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation on May 9, 1914, declaring the second Sunday of May “a public expression of our love and reverence for the mothers of our country.” Read his message here:

Here some of interesting Mothers day gift ideas !!

How to Buy a Men's Suit Online

1 Know your likes and what you need. When you have selected a site to seriously examine, look to see what additional information it offers.

2 Be sure to read all of the available information about the suit you have selected. Look for reputable sites with contact information.

3 Select the correct fabric. Suits are made of costly wool. You might even see 100 percent cashmere. For hot weather, linen and cotton and silk are available, but most suits are still made of wool. Stick with that.

4 Think about the style. Don't do too many experiments with style. Stick with a style that is flattering to your body type.

5 Different body types, different fittings. Bulky men should choose fitted suits with dark colored, whereas tall and skinny men should choose light-colored suits with heavier fabrics that keep their shape little heavy.

6 Short men should avoid loud patterns. Instead, select horizontal stripes to look tall. Your pants should have a low rise to make the upper body appear longer by comparison.

7 To ensure the suit you buy fits you, you need to know several important measurements. Pay close attention to the provided size chart, because you cannot try the suit on yourself before buying it.

8 Check all of the available views of a suit before deciding to purchase it.

9 Once you receive the suit, try it on first, but do not remove any tags in case you want to return it.

How to Arrange a Bouquet of Flowers

Flowers fresh from the florist commonly come with overlong stems and the greenery bunched to the back. Show off your blossoms by arranging them in a vase to take advantage of their colors and placement.

1 Pick your color scheme. You could either select flowers for your bouquet in a range of colors or go with a monochromatic scheme. Look for varying types of flowers as well.

2 Select a vase that will hold all of the flowers without a great deal of open or leftover space. The blooms should be able to fit tightly against one another when arranged, not droop off to the sides alone.

3 Determine the height of the bouquet. This may be dictated by the size of the vase or where the bouquet will be displayed. Smaller vases and spaces may require flowers with their stems cut down, while larger vases and open areas may benefit from longer stems and trailing blossoms.

4 Trim off the ends of the stems. Use gardening shears and remove enough stem so that the flowers fit your vase neatly.

5 Treat the blossoms to help keep them fresh longer.
Wrap the ends of roses in brown paper and dip them in boiling water to force air from the stems. Leave them in the water until it cools, and then trim the stems again.
Spray cooking spray on tropical flowers to help seal in their moisture.
Dip the heads of hydrangeas and other large flowers into water to soak for a few minutes before arranging them.

6 Rotate the vase constantly as you place the flowers inside it. This will ensure you don't neglect any one area and give an even hand to the entire bouquet.

7 Place the larger, more vivid blossoms in the vase first, and then place the smaller blooms around them.

8 Vary the blossoms in height and color evenly throughout the arrangement. Tuck smaller flowers around the edges and keep longer, trailing plants toward the center and top.

9 Add some support to the bouquet so that it doesn't lean to one side. Use large, leafy tree branches to hold up more delicate flowers and provide a backdrop for bouquets without a lot of greenery. Wrap clear hair elastic around the stems of the bouquet right at the waterline to pack the flowers tightly together and force them to support one another.

Commands:
Step away from the arrangement frequently as you work to help get a better sense of how it is all coming together. Working too close to the arrangement may give you a false sense of scale.

Add a few drops of bleach to the water just before placing the flowers in it. This will help kill off any bacteria in the water and help your arrangement last longer.
